Wie ihr im Video gesehen habt, habe ich den großen Wunsch, meinen Bruder Ossama nach Deutschland zu holen, ganz legal mit einem Visum.
Er ist 2013 vor dem Krieg in Syrien in den Libanon geflüchtet, wo sein Leben sehr hart ist. Er schuftet sieben Tage die Woche 15 Stunden am Tag als Kellner, um genug Geld für ein Bett in einem Dreibettzimmer bezahlen zu können. Er ist nun 29 Jahre alt – und hat dort keine Hoffnung, in seinem Leben noch einen Schritt weiter zu bekommen. 2015 hat Ossama mir geholfen, in die Türkei zu fliehen und mir somit die Tür in mein jetziges Leben geöffnet.
Nun will ich ihm helfen, zu mir nach Deutschland zu kommen, damit er auch etwas aus seinem Leben machen kann.




Dafür brauche ich eure Hilfe. Denn es geht um Geld.

Ich habe zwei sehr nette Freundinnen hier, Schwestern, die mich wie ihren Patensohn aufgenommen haben. Sie haben mir zu der WG verholfen, Katja hat mit mir Verbformen gepaukt und mich bei Behördengängen begleitet, ihre Schwester Claudia wäre nun bereit, eine Verpflichtungserklärung für Ossama abzugeben (dafür braucht man ein gutes, regelmäßiges Einkommen).

Eine Verpflichtungserklärung ist eine Art Garantie. Die Verpflichtungsgeberin bürgt fünf Jahre lang dafür, dass mein Bruder dem deutschen Staat finanziell nicht zur Last fällt. Praktisch heißt das: Wenn er sich nicht selbst finanzieren kann, muss Claudia für ihn die Lebenshaltungskosten auf Hartz IV-Niveau übernehmen. Auf fünf Jahre gerechnet entspricht das ca. 40.000 Euro – eine Summe, die sie nicht alleine stemmen kann. Daher wollen wir mit diesem Crowdfunding ein finanzielles Backup von ca. 13.000 Euro sammeln. Eine Art Garantie für die Garantie. Sprich: Je mehr Menschen bereit sind, für Ossama zu spenden – als eine Art Darlehen, das im besten Fall nach fünf Jahren zurückgezahlt wird (dazu gleich mehr) –, umso geringer wird ihr Risiko.
Unser Plan sieht so aus:

1. Bürokratie: Ossama hat bereits alle Papiere für den Visumsantrag beisammen. Sobald das Backup hoch genug ist, kann Claudia ihre Verpflichtungserklärung abgeben. Nach dem Visaantrag dauert die Zusage etwa drei Monate.

2. Geld: Ein Teil der 40.000 Euro ist bereits beisammen. Unsere Eltern, die noch in Syrien leben, haben Geld gespart, unsere australischen Cousins haben Unterstützung zugesagt, Claudia und Katjas Familie ebenso. Der Rest soll über das Crowdfunding zusammenkommen.
3. Wohnen: Hier in Berlin kann Ossama umsonst in meiner WG leben (die Wohnung gehört Katjas Familie) – das reduziert die Lebenshaltungskosten erheblich.
3. Arbeiten und Deutsch lernen: Ossama ist als Sprachlehrer hoffentlich genauso schnell wie ich, um die Grundlagen auf Deutsch zu lernen (ich habe sechs Monate gebraucht). Ab da wird er sich so bald wie möglich einen Job suchen.
4. Berufliche Perspektive: Sobald er halbwegs gesettelt ist, will er sich beruflich neu orientieren, etwa als Sozialarbeiter. Wir schätzen, dass er (spätestens) nach 2.5 Jahren in der Lage ist, sich komplett selbst zu finanzieren; bis dahin gibt es dann hoffentlich ein modernes Einwanderungsgesetz für motivierte Menschen in benötigten Berufen.

Läuft alles nach Plan, wird Ossama also in den fünf Jahren nur einen Teil der 40.000 Euro brauchen, im besten Fall nur das Geld, das bereits im Topf ist. Das übrige Geld aus dem Crowdfunding würden wir dann an die Crowd zurückbezahlen (plus Bankzinsen).

Läuft es nicht so gut wie geplant, und er braucht auch das Geld aus dem Crowdfunding, würden wir alles, was nach fünf Jahren übrig ist, anteilsmäßig (plus Bankzinsen) zurückzahlen.

Für mich wäre es ein Traum, wieder mit meinem Bruder leben zu können – für ihn ginge ein Alptraum zu Ende. Ich bin sicher, er wird alles tun, um hier in Deutschland schnell selbständig zu werden, er ist ein sehr netter, toller und kluger Typ und wir wären euch allen wahnsinnig dankbar, wenn ihr uns helfen würdet.

As you‘ve seen in the video, it‘s my wish, to bring my brother Ossama to Germany, legally with a valid visa. In 2013 he escaped from Ja the war in Syria to Lebanon, where his life is very rough. He works 15 hours per day, seven days a week as a waiter, just to earn enough money to sleep in a three-bed room. Now he‘s 29 years old and has no hope to make any progress in his life. In 2015 Ossama helped me to flee to Turkey and thus made it possible for me to start a new life. Now I want to help him to come to me to Germany, that way he can also make something out of his life.

Therefore I need your help, as it is a matter of money.

I‘ve found two very kind friends here, sisters, who took me as their godson. They helped me to get into a shared flat, Katja taught me vocabulary and verb forms and accompanied me to the authorities, her sister Claudia is willing to sign a guarantee to the German state (therefore one needs a good and regular income). This guarantee is some kind of assurance. The guarantor stands bail, so that my brother won‘t be a financial burden on the German State. Practically this means: If he is not able to finance himself, Claudia is responsible to take over the living costs on minimum level. Over a period of five years this measures up to 40.000 euros; an amount she cannot press on her own. 

Therefore we want to collect a financial backup by Crowd Funding, a kind of guarantee for the guarantee concerning over an amount of 13.000 €. The more people are willing to donate for Ossama, seen as a loan, which will at best be refunded after five years, the lower her risk gets. 

Our plan is the following:

Bureaucracy: Ossama already has all the papers needed for his visa application. As soon as the backup is high enough, Claudia can sign the guarantee. After application, it takes about three months to get the visa.
Money: We already have a part of the 40.000 €. Our parents who still live in Syria have saved money, our Australian cousins provide their support, Claudias and Katjas family equally. The rest is supposed to come together via Crowd Funding.
Living: Here in Berlin Ossama can live in my shared flat for free (Katjas family is the flat owner), this reduces the living costs significally.
Working and learning German: As a language teacher, Ossama hopefully is as fast as I was, to learn the basics of the German language (it took me six months). Asap he is going to look for a job.
Career perspectives: Once he is halfway settled, he wants to find new job prospects, e.g. as a social worker. We assume that it takes him no longer than two years to be able to finance himself. Until then there will hopefully be a modern immigration act for motivated people in required professions.

If everything goes according to the plan, Ossama will only need a part of the 40.000 € in those five years, in best-case scenario only the money we already have. The remaining money from the Crowd Funding would be payed back to the Crowd (plus bank interest). If it doesn‘t go as planned and he needs the Crowd Funding-money, we would refund all the money which is left over after five years, proportiona
It would be a dream for me, to live together with my brother – and for him coming here would end a nightmare. I‘m sure, he will do everything to become independent in Germany. He is a very nice and smart guy and we would be extremely grateful if you supported us.
