It’s that time of year again! Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children’s Picnic April 2015!
We are graduating seniors in the Deaf Studies major at Sacramento State University. As part of our class project we are partnering with the Dewey Parent Faculty Organization to hold Northern California’s 24th Annual Picnic for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children. The picnic is for children from around the entire Sacramento Valley region.
The Picnic Day gives Deaf and Hard of Hearing children the opportunity to make social connections, increase language development, and stimulate personal growth as a result of interacting with a diversity of children who are also Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The Dewey Parent Faculty Organization (PFO) is a registered non-profit organization (501 C3) that is dedicated to emphasizing core values such as mind, body, and heart in its vision for students’ education. Your donations will fund materials for games, activities, and entertainment for these children as well as provide food and drinks for approximately 200 guests.
