Pitcrew's Flood Fund

$35,953 of $20k goal

Tim Reardon  FREDERICK, MD
On Sunday February 15th, around midnight, we had water pipes freeze in the building above Pitcrew. The water soaked everything in the front half of the shop. To add insult to injury a second pipe burst above the back of the shop on Monday the 16th once again raining down on the shop. The shop has been closed since and is in need of major repairs, with a possible total loss situation.

While insurance will cover some of the losses, we are in a bind until the help from insurance comes through, which could be months away. We want to keep supporting skateboarding in the DC area in a grassroots way, but we also have to now support rebuilding the shop and keeping roofs over our staff's heads.

We have had some really generous outreach so far from industry and skaters themselves offering to help. We are going to try and make sure every donation will receive something as a thank you once we get back on our feet.  Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you from everyone at Pitcrew.

We don't even no how to say thank you enough to everyone that has helped us out. It is truly amazing how our friends, neighbors, fellow business owners, and the entire skate industry has come together to help us out in our time of need. Thank you very much!!!! We are in the process of figuring our what has been effected by the water and what has not. We do not have a timeline for when we will rebuild and reopen but we will keep everyone up to speed as we know. Thank you again each and everyone of you rules! Pitcrew

I would like to help. Can i donate a deck? My friend Jen Weber let me know about your goals. She and i share a love of the Beastie Boys. A few years ago i designed an Adam 'MCA' Yauch deck. It would seem appropriate to send a board to aid in your quest to raise money (Adam was an avid skater and snowboarder; as well as a humanitarian and activist). I hope it helps. Good luck!

Now that the first push of covering the funds goal is sorted, (but hopefully keeps going) helping re-stock the shop has to be next. Insurance is only going to cover so much... and it won't be enough... Birdhouse will be donating a box of decks and some other goods too. I'd expect the same from all you other brands, and heads of state out there industry wide... We need these guys out there, and we all know it. What do you guys got on it?

I want to help out, but just need to wait until payday. I know it's a tough uphill struggle with these campaigns - My friend Teddy is doing one for his grandma and it's been a hard climb. But I am certain that there are still those out there with enough compassion to help everyone. Happy to see you made your goal, but I'm sure that any extra might help. God Bless!!
