"Drew was shipped to Duke last night and they are considering echmo where they removed his blood and a machine oxygenates it and bypass the lungs to improve his oxygenation to give him the best possible chances. He will still be in a medically induced coma for quite some time to allow his body heal."

Hi everyone - we are writing on behalf of one of our best friends, Amie McGowan Myers and her husband Drew.
Drew unfortunately has a sudden illness and is in critical condition in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and on a ventilator. He will be in the hospital for many weeks & atleast 2 weeks in the ICU. We cannot go into much detail right now.
We know there are so many of you out there that know and love Amie, Drew and their beautiful little family. And even if you are reading this somehow & don't know them - we hope you can be compassionate for a sudden illness of a beloved husband, father and son.
If you could please donate towards their medical bills it is the best gift you could give - with his illness Drew is not working and has a long road ahead for recovery.
We ask to please NOT bombard Amie right now with calls, texts or messages on her personal facebook. She is very overwhelmed and trying to care for Drew and their 3 children right now.
The best way to help right now is to donate towards what will be a very large medical bill & write on this GoFundMe wall with your thoughts and prayers so she can see at a later date.
Please keep Drew in your mind, your hearts and your prayers.
Even the smallest gesture if you do not have much yourself makes a HUGE difference in someone else's life.
