Help with Sora's Medical Bills

Donation protected

My name's Kyle and I live in Orlando, FL.

Last night my cat Sora (1 1/2 year old orange tabby) came home crying and limping. He wouldn't put any pressure on his left front paw, and when I touched it to check it out he would howl in pain non-stop. It looked and felt like his arm may be broken.

This happened around midnight on a Saturday, so I brought him to the closest 24/7 emergency animal hospital. I was able to get him into an observation room pretty quickly.

After looking him over, the doctor recommended that they give him some pain meds and run a few x-rays. The bill for that (including the visit fee and review of the x-rays by a radiologist) came out to about $600 on its own. I live on a very tight budget, so this came as a little bit of a shock, but I didn't really have much of an option, so I agreed to it.

After waiting for a couple of hours, the x-rays came back and showed that not only was Sora's arm severely fractured, but he had most likely been shot with a BB gun or something similar, as there appeared to be a projectile stuck in his arm. I was so upset when I heard this, I can't beleive someone would be so cruel to an innocent cat. Here's one of the X-rays:

Since they were an emergency hospital, they weren't full equipped to fix him up, so they put his arm in a splint and bandaged it up so I could take him to the vet on Monday. He was pretty upset at this point, so they couldn't wrap him up without anaesthesia. The bill for the wrap-up and anesthesia came out to about $375, bringing the current total to just under $1000 so far.

I'm taking some time off work tomorrow morning (Monday) to bring him to the vet. According to the emergency vet, depending on what they have to do to him, that visit could be anywhere from $400-1000 on top of what I've already paid, so I could be looking at a grand total around $2000.

(he's pretty miserable in his cast and cone - I feel so bad for him)

I really can't afford any of this, but I don't really have an option at this point. I'm going to try and work out a payment plan with the vet so I can pay it off over time, but my friend recommended I create this GoFundMe to try and get some help.

Any donations we receive will go directly toward Sora's medical bills.

Kind words and any advice you may have are also very much appreciated. I don't expect much to come from this, but I will certainly be thankful to anyone who can contribute even a small amount.

He's still so cute, even though he's completely miserable...
