II. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We are all about food. We love cooking it, eating it, coming up with new ways to serve it. You name it, and we’ve tried it, and then thought of ten ways we could have done it differently. We’ve been this way for years, and now we’d like to share our passion with others. We are opening Tokeen, which will serve Seafood and steak and will provide customers with a warm and friendly family atmosphere.

We are seeking 50,000 for start up costs. We believe we will be profitable within 6 months to 1 year because the restaurant will be the only one in the area of its kind that uses only local farms and wineries for its ingredients.

III. BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

We know the restaurant industry is a difficult one in which to achieve success but, we are confident that our ideas and experience will give us a leg up on the competition. We believe that even in a sluggish economy, our product will be appealing enough to consumers that they will still want to spend their hard-earned money on a night out at our restaurant.

Our goals are to provide fresh and organic Cuisine in a family friendly atmosphere, and we will do this with unsurpassed customer service. We believe that our philosophy of supporting our community and keeping up the highest standards in product will help us to achieve these goals.

We are setting up our restaurant as a sole proprietorship.

IV. MARKET ANALYSIS

Though there is competition near us, our services will be superior to those currently offered in the area because we have better recipes and use only fresh local product.

Our prices will be less than, or equal to the competition, and we believe they are set up perfectly because the freshness of the dishes and friendliness of the staff will surpass the competition in every way.

V. OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT

Tokeen will be located at downtown Ojai. Parking will obviously be necessary, and the parking situation at our location is good however there is plenty of parking downtown within walking distance of the location.

There are a few other restaurants within the area, which will help the business because it will just make us stand out that much more.

We will have a website. We will have 10-15 employees, including servers, hostess, chefs and managers.

Opening a restaurant is one of the most expensive small business ventures there is, since the startup costs are significant. There are many things we will need in the initial startup, however the location I have in mind is already retrofitted for a restaurant so we will save a lot on start up costs.

VII. DEVELOPMENT PLAN

We will begin our marketing plan as soon as funds allow with advertising in local papers and radio, with the intention of spending 3 months on marketing before officially opening.

Prior to opening, we will spend 1-6 months purchasing equipment and setting up our space. Our location is ready and we will be spending an estimated 15,000 for refurbishing ect. The equipment will be an estimated 10,000.

With the money we receive from the community and investors, we will use every dollar wisely to create a place where families can go have fun and have some excellent food.

Our goal is to be profitable within in 6 months. In a year to 5 years I expect us to be the place to go for fun casual dining!!!
