My kids need a wheelchair van!

Donation protected
Ryan and Brendan are two amazing brothers who happen to have been born with Muscular dystrophy. There is no cure and very few treatments for DMD.  Boys with DMD have every muscle in their body slowly die and turn into scar tissue. This even includes their heart. Ryan  and Brendan each lost the ability to walk during fourth grade and have been using power wheelchairs ever since. Duchenne muscular dystrophy has caused Brendan to endure two surgeries and Ryan is scheduled for his first very soon.

Ryan and Brendan have many medical appointments every year with neurologists, cardiologists, pulmonologist, urologist, orthopedics, and physical therapists.  Many of our doctors are 60 miles away but a few of them are 225 miles from home.

We also attend our local Assembly of God. Ryan was baptized there this spring.  It was an amazing morning as several friends helped transfer him from his wheelchair to the baptismal.

Ryan graduated high school in May of 2018 and pursuing a goal of writing a book.  Brendan is a sophomore this fall.  He is excited to be back among his friends and attending school activities.  They both enjoy watching their sister Karcee and the Ava Pride Band march at the football games.  They also have a younger brother and sister.  Hunter and Autumn are very busy elementary students that love to hang out with their older brothers.

Ryan, Karcee, Brendan, Hunter, and Autumn are wonderful children. They each have been a blessing in my life. However, it is very difficult for Summer and myself to care for Ryan and Brendan's extra needs while still making time for all five of them to be kids. Summer and I start our day at 4:00 and go non-stop until 9:30 or even later.

We are starting this to help purchase a van with a wheelchair lift or ramp in it. Ryan and Brendan need access to a van that can get them to their needed doctor appointments. Our family needs a van that can carry all of us to our school activities, church services at the Ava Assembly, all of our family dinners, and possibly college class for Ryan. The van we own has a broken wheelchair lift. It has many other issues as well including mechanical and safety.  Ryan and Brendan have already missed a cardiology checkup because we didn't have a way to get them to the office.  A van will keep Ryan and Brendan make it to their appointments keeping them healthier and keep them from being locked away at home away from their friends and family.

Any help would be greatly appreciated by our entire family.
Thank you and God bless.
Will and Summer
