Last resort

After 50+ years of marriage and working hard and living decently, we have hit a financial hole that we just can't get even with.  It's not anything horrible, just a set of circumstances that no matter how hard we try we can't get past.  Once we get even, we can stay even.  Once Joe gets on his feet, I can get a job.  It's just if we don't get some help quick we're going to be homeless.  As it is, we only need to catch up our rent and electric.  Can't promise to pay cash back so this is a last resort.  The rest will work itself out, but $2000 would be like winning 2 million at this point.  If we can get out of this, once we're straight I promise that I'll take these random acts of kindness and pay them back 10 fold.
