Muslim Millennials is a platform that was founded to tell a story. The story of young Muslims living in the west; through their life experiences, their conflicts, and the art they produce as a result of it all. This emerging generation of young Muslims, trying to live a Godly life whilst playing a role in the culture they find themselves in.
From Malcolm X and the foundations of Hip-Hop, to the mystical traditions of Africa and the near East. Muslims in the Millennial generation have a vast spectrum of cultural movements which have impacted their lives, and ultimately resulted in the complex personalities we find among our community.
Our project began from humble means, and aimed to shine a light on these incredible characters. We hoped to learn about their journeys to God and to faith, their struggles and their successes, and how they bring together the numerous identities which make up the young Muslim community in the West.
By tapping into the vast array of scholarship, established and emerging, we aim to enlighten the discussion on Muslim youth issues, and provide answers to the burning questions that young Muslims have. Through this we hope to create an intelligent and religiously informed generation of Millennials confident in their faith, who fulfil what God wants in a way that relates to their culture.
The last 12 months have shown us the potential of our platform. With our initial funding, we were able to create content which was incredibly well received by you all. The outpouring of support means we would like to carry on the work we began, this is where you come in.
We are hoping to raise £5,000 from your contributions, to help us develop more content and projects over the next 12 months. Your contributions will help towards the cost of video production, website development and maintenance, recording equipment, and paying for our guests and collaborators on Muslim Millennials projects. £5,000 is just £25 from 200 people, this relatively small contribution will have a massive impact on the future of our project.
We feel this is a really exciting opportunity to help young Muslims seize back their narrative and tell their own story. Collaborating with us on this project provides a unique opportunity to make your mark, and help create a better and more informed future for generations to come.
