Muslim Bus Driver Gets Beat

Salaams All, 

My name is Sajjad Shah and I am the founder of Muslims of the World and I was contacted by a woman named Ebtesam Farha, who is a teacher at Multicultural Academy in Ann Arbor Michigan.  She told me a very devastating story that certainly needs to be brought to the world.

The bus driver is man named Rebhi Mohammed, who is a very simple brother who lives in Ann Arbor.  He helps Multicultural Academy, which is a school filled with predominately Syrian refugees and he absolutely loves them like they are his own children.  He does not do well financially, however, his passion for helping Syrian Refugees is what keeps him going.  He transports them to and back to school every day.  

Unfortunately, on Friday (January 25th), Rebhi was dropping the kids off, when his bus grazed the side of a car and accidentally broke the car's mirror.  Rebhi, driving a huge bus did not realize that this even occurred and slowed down to drop the kids off at the near by stop.  When he opened the door, the owner of the car that he grazed came into the bus along with his friend and repeatedly punched Rebhi in the face over and over again until he was passed out.  

The students who look at Rebhi as an Uncle had to watch it all and were horrified by the incident.  The first thing that Rebhi did when he woke up was ask how the kids were and he kissed each one on their foreheads.  Rebhi currently has a swollen face and can not work due to this incident, we hope to raise him some money to help bring him ease during this difficult and tragic moment that just occurred.  We hope that you donate and your reward is with Allah swt. 

The money will be transferred to Ebtesam and the money will then be hand delivered to Rebhi and it will be recorded to show proof once the money is delivered inshAllah.

Who you are and where you’re from

-My name is Sajjad Shah and I am the founder of a small organization called "Muslims of the World" based out of Indiana.  We highlight stories of people and raise funds for different organizations.  This story was shocking to see and we were asked by a few teachers at the school where this bus driver works at if we could help.  We shared the story on our instagram page @muslimsoftheworld1 that has about 300,000 followers and we raised $22,000 in about 24 hours!  I am also the admin of that page on social media.

-I am friends with a few of the teachers at this school in Michigan and they reached out to me to see if I could help raise funds for this man.  

How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible)

-When we were raising funds we wanted to help this man in whatever way possible.  To pay for any medical expenses, anything he is struggling with: rent, bills, food.  We will be giving him the lump sum amount and he will be in charge of how he spends the money based off of his needs.
