Tammy Zamboni’s Stroke Recovery Expenses
Tammy Zamboni is a 47-year-old, lifelong resident of Mountain Top, currently residing in Slocum Township with her husband of 27 years, Chris. She was stricken with a hemorrhagic stroke on July 18, 2018. That evening in order to save her life, she underwent surgery to repair the bleed and remove the clot that formed as a result of the bleed, which was the size of a grapefruit. After surgery, the CT scan revealed another clot formed and was the same size as the first one. We received thedevastating news that she was not expected to live through the night.
Tammy beat all odds. She fought very hard for her life. A month after surgery, the CT scan revealed she still has the clot, but it is almost dissolved, brain swelling has decreased, and the brain is shifting back to where it belongs. Unfortunately, she is left with severe deficits. The left side of her brain was affected, resulting in right-sided paralysis, possible memory loss, and speech and language difficulties. She has a very long road to recovery, but is making progress. She is such a fighter!
Chris has been by her side every single day. After Chris finishes his workday, you know for certain you can find him withTammy at the facility. He doesn’t just visit. He performs the duties of a nurse and therapist while there. Tammy couldn’t have a better husband.
She and Chris have worked very hard all of their lives to accomplish everything they have. Not only are they down to a single income now, but the medical expenses and the cost of making their home handicap accessible for Tammy’s homecoming is additional stress. We know she wants more than anything to be back home as soon as possible.
