It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that this morning we lost Sergeant Debra Clayton in the line of duty. She heroically, fought for her life and unfortunately passed away at 7:40 a.m.  January 9th 2017.  Sergeant Clayton served the Orlando Police Department for over 17 years.

We will get through this together. Courage, Pride and Commitment. At this time we ask everyone to please pray for Sergent Clayton's family during this very difficult time.

Deputy Chief Orlando Rolon

All funds received will go directly to the husband of Master Sergeant Clayton to be used for his families expenses.

FYI, to all donors. My name is Jay Carr and I am a great friend of Master Sgt Clayton. I also work for the Orlando Police Department. We met at Valencia Community College in 1996 and we attended the University of Central Florida together. Our families are extremely close.

The funds collected for this campaign will be used by her husband to pay down any debt they have, assist family members with expenses that they incur during this difficult time. I have transferred ownership of this page to her husband. He is the only one that can withdraw funds from this account.

This is the account that has been sent out by the Orlando Police Department Public Information Officer. The family has not authorized any other Gofundme campaign other than this one.

All of your thoughtful donation are appreciated by Mr. Clayton and his family.

I did not personally know Master Sergeant Debra Clayton, I only learned of the situation through the news media. My condolences and prayers to all that knew her. From the numerous stories shared it's obvious she was a fine, caring, dedicated individual in all aspects of her life. I pray that justice will be served and bring the proper closure for the friends, family, colleagues and loved ones who had the pleasure of knowing her. God Bless and may you have peace of mind and heart in this difficult time.

I'm not big on words as you may know Sgt..but I have not stopped thinking about that day and wishing that I was right there with you fighting and protecting you. I feel bad that I called in sick and did not get to see you at lineup. If I could have taken every bullet for you I would have. You were there for me when I was hurt and stayed with me and my family until the day I was released and I wish I could have been there for you that day as you were for me. I am sorry that I could be there when you needed it the most and that will never fade away. Miss you and you will live on in us...

My heart goes out to her family and all her brother's and Sister's in Blue. Sgt. Clayton was always a happy and caring person, she was always sweet to my children when I stopped by with my ex's lunch. The community lost a very caring soul and I pray that they find this guy and bring him to justice for what he has done. She will be missed by many. I pray for peace that surpasses all understanding to her husband, Son , the rest of her family and all the people's and kid's life that she touched!R.I.P you will be missed dearly!

In the Line of Duty What is the meaning of In The Line Of Duty It means that an officer made the Ultimate sacrifice. It means that someone took an officers life. A hero has fallen. Officers who gave their all To protect and serve us Have been killed by someone whom they swore To protect and serve. It means that their badge will no longer be on their chest And they will join The Best Of The Best It means that family and friends are left behind To deal with the loss of a loved one. Only having the memories of that loved one Close to their hearts. Something no one can ever take away. It means that family members will stand at the officers grave And wonder why... Why would someone take an officers life And leave them there to die? If we only knew. Today an officer will place their badge on their chest To fulfill the dreams of heroes killed In The Line Of Duty - Author Unknown thought's and prayers to her Police Family And Her Real Family

Father, You can count the stars and call them all by name. Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. You support the humble and bring the wicked down into the dust. You comfort those who mourn. We declare that those grieving the death of a loved one; mourning will turn into dancing. We confess that You are their rock, fortress, and Savior in whom they will find protection. You are their shield, and the strength of their salvation. Father, You are their stronghold. As they call on You, You have promised to answer. We believe that You will be with them during this period of bereavement, rescue them from grief, honor them, and give them Your salvation.
