This week we lost our friend Jen Pfannerstill, a beloved mother, wife, colleague, teacher, and coach. Jen Pfannerstill was an inspiration to all and her strength of character, fierce courage, and can-do attitude were contagious. This news comes as a shock to all.
Friends of Jen’s community have established a GoFundMe account to honor Jen’s memory and help support Noel and their daughters through this most challenging time. All funds will go directly to support the immediate needs of the family. Every contribution both great and small is appreciated. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Jen’s life centered around her husband, Noel, and their three beautiful daughters, Kali (11th grader), Meg (7th grader), and Haidyn (3rd grader). She was an accomplished and passionate teacher, respected by peers both near and far, and known for her amazing creativity and ability to spark a love of discovery and all things science in students of all ages. Whether in the classroom or on the volleyball court, Jen was focused, driven, and dedicated to making a positive difference.
For the last five years, Jen has been the Scientist-in-Residence, a Science Department faculty member and volleyball coach at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Ill. She has also served in numerous leadership positions with The College Board, and coached for the Wildcat Juniors Volleyball club. Jen’s impact stretched both far and wide. She will be greatly missed.
