MRA – Marijuana Reconciliation Association

We are lobbying Congress. To pay back marijuana users and their communities from decades of wrongful imprisonment, loss of freedoms and unethical treatment.

Warning!!! Urgent!!! States, Legislators and International Corporations are currently steamrolling legislation to legalize Marijuana. It's not the question of if but when. What started out as a crawl has now sped in to a full on sprint of state after state picking and choosing the legalization of marijuana for either recreational and/or medicinal use with some states opting for low THC caninoids for medicinal purposes only. https://www.forbes.com/sites/kriskrane/2018/12/19/cannabis-attracts-big-tobacco-alcohol-and-pharma-which-big-industries-will-join-next/#10de88958daf

We must organize now at the beginning stages of legislation or loose the ability to obtain billions of dollars in tax revenue. This crowdfund is to establish an association to provide lobbing efforts to put into a bill in congress to redress the unfair, misinformed, criminalization of marijuana and materials associated.

There is no doubt that marijuana is well on it's way to falling off Federal lists of Schedule 1 drugs and companies like Marlboro, Monsanto, Phillip Morris, the Canadian company Cronos, Altria, Tilray who partnered with Navartis and more are all jumping on the bandwagon ready to make billions of dollars which is estimated to be $52 billion by 2022.

The war against marijuana users span at least 50 years and still continues today. As in any war there are victims. It has left many living casualties and destroyed families. When a family members position is left vacant, it can cause irreparable damage to all persons tied to the life of the missing person. For husbands, wives and children, extreme heartache, separation anxiety, feelings of loss and bewilderment, lost time and in extreme cases feelings of abandonment and more sweep across the lives of many family and friends without prejudice.

Tax revenues by state are very few currently but growing but as marijuana gains popularity there is no doubt that either federally or state by state marijuana will be taxed and the men and women who's lives that have been ruined should be compensated and so should the American people from being duped into believing that marijuana is a dangerous drug when countless stories have at the very least suggested that the medicinal properties and the effectiveness of their uses are plentiful and the testimonials that are very easy to find on line show that marijuana has helped people from all ages and all demography.

Legislating into law an added tax is a form of reconciliation for financial compensation of it's citizens due to the wrongful illegalization of marijuana and the extreme negative impact it has caused within the lives of the persons adjudicated by law and the families that were effected by the loss of said persons jailed for any extended period of time. Also to provide financial compensation for the treatment and rehabilitation for substance abusers and their families. Provide educational job training for people directly effected by over prosecution and to provide small business and infrastructure loans for communities that where disproportionately impacted by over prosecution to effected persons.

Why should governments, big corporation and investors profit of the production sale and use of marijuana and not to address and reconcile the past over prosecution and destruction of potentially millions of lives.
Currently the states who are taxing marijuana have made millions of dollars from it's revenue. The states are as listed below:

Alaska $50 per ounce

California $9.25 per ounce of marijuana flowers $2.75 per ounce of leaves

15% percent excise tax for retailers.

Colorado 15% excise tax for cultivator to retailer

15% state levied sales tax going to retail

Maine 10% Pending levy an excise tax on cultivators at a rate of $335 per pound of flower $94 per lb of marijuana trim, $1.50 per immature plant or seedling, and $0.30 per seed

Massachusetts 10.75% excise tax

Nevada 10% sales tax

Oregon, 7 % sales tax

Washington 37% sales tax

These current tax funds are disbursement by states to their selected sources with little or no input or oversight by the consumers that were unfairly punished by the government.

In addition to lobbying efforts we will be forming association membership that will provide financial help to patients who can't afford prescriptions, discounts on sales, legal help, up to date marijuana information, online social networking and more....
