Mr. Romero can no longer swallow or eat

I have to say THANK YOU! Thank you to all of you that have directed your attention to this page, and for reading about something SO IMPORTANT!
My husband Jose Romero is a remarkably wonderful substitute teacher, father, and husband. He was just recently stricken with an unknown condition. He's now left unable to eat, drink, and swallow. He has to constantly suction out his mouth so he does not choke or aspirate. A feeding tube was placed in his stomach, but he is still weak. To make matters worse, he has been confined to a wheelchair all his life being a paraplegic, so now this unknown condition has bed stricken him.
Jose has always been a very active and independent person despite his disability. His wheelchair did not keep him from going out and working, and most definitely did not stop him from being an impactful person on countless peoples's lives. He's an awesome substitute teacher, and is adored and admired by both students and faculty alike from every school he attends. Mr. Romero has been in education for more than 24 years, teaching being his first endeavor and soon moving to full time substitute. Why has he become a full time substitute you ask? Well that's because he loves working with kids and making their school days better, and there isn't a day where he doesn't become a little happier being at a school with them.
Using his infectious enthusiasm, smile, and jokes/riddles, he creates a classroom that is inviting and exciting for students, keeping them interested both inside and outside of school. He has the amazing ability to reach and connect with the students he comes across, and that's already in the thousands spanning two generations.
We are all heartbroken and very concerned about why he has contracted this sudden and life changing condition. He has given everything in his life that he possibly could to anyone he comes across because he felt it was the right thing to do, and now it's time we pay it back in any way possible.
You can help by donating any amount if it's possible and you are willing. We need financial help to pay for the tremendous amount of medical bills that will soon be given to us due to his required medical treatment and extended stay in the hospital. Please help with relieving us and most importantly Mr. Romero of some burdens in this time of need. From the bottom of my heart, my sons heart, and Mr. Romero's heart, we say THANK YOU!
