Mr. David & Philip Need Our Help!

Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts the Dapplegray Staff, PTA and Booster Club Members send this out. We would like to take a moment to express our sincere heartbreak to a tragic incident that occurred this past weekend to one of the pillars of our amazing school.

On Sunday evening our beloved Mr. David came home from working his second job in hopes to find his two young sons running around the house. Unfortunately, David only saw one of his boys and was told by his wife that his 4 year old son, Philip, had gone to bed early after a long day of playing with friends. For whatever reason, David decided to peek into his son’s bedroom. He was met with every parent’s worst nightmare.

David found Philip unresponsive and with no vital signs. Quick action was taken and David and his wife called 911 and were directed by dispatchers to take Philip to the ER themselves based on the close proximity they lived to the hospital. They did just that and were not given good news. From there, Philip was transferred to multiple hospitals and is currently in the care of an amazing specialist at a local hospital.

Throughout this ordeal, tests were run and it has been determined that Philip suffered from an anaphylactic response to an undiagnosed peanut allergy. Philip will remain in ICU/24 hr monitoring until further notice but seems to have made some promising small steps in recovery over the last 24 hours.

At this time the Staff, PTA and Booster Club have no further details but collectively share united support for David, his family and Philip’s recovery. We have set up a GO FUND ME to help with the massive medical bills that have incurred over the last week as well as to cover co-pays, travel costs and possible lost wages due to both parents doing their best to remain by their son’s bed side. While we know this Go Fund Me will not cover it all we hope to collect a substantial amount to offset the expenses enough so that David and his family can spend the holidays focusing on their son’s health, recovery and their family.

We are Colts and we are community. Please consider helping.
