Moving Mountains for Marc
Marc asked me to marry him! Finally! We were heading to the beach for a morning meditation celebration together when life struck. An intoxicated, 26 year old woman drove her dodge Durango right into us. I got off lucky with 5 broken ribs, a contusion on my lung, and a scalp laceration; but Marc was not as lucky. Marc is paralyzed from the waist down. We were warned by our lawyers that we might not get anything from the lawsuit because you can't make a rock bleed. Basically, if she has nothing, we can't take anything. I'm overwhelmed and scared and I need your help. I have to care for myself and my fiancé. I can't do this alone. She took our lives away, I need you're help to get it back. If you have nothing to give then give us your light and love. Keep us in your prayers.+ Read More
Being home has been a struggle. We've been making it through it but we have definately been struggling. I just still wanted to say thank you to everyone, for everything. We are beyond fortunate to know you all. I've never realized how loving and generous my community is but I will never forget. I can't do much because we are still waist deep in our troubles but I can do some things! If you need your lawn mowed and your mower broke: I got you. If you need your gutters cleaned and you're scared of heights: I got you! If you need some decorating but your artistically challenged: I got you! I just want to let those who've stood by us to know that we will be here for you: whatever way we can. Reach for me even if all you need is someone to talk to and pass time during a car drive that makes you sleepy. Idk. But we love you and appreciate you.
Hey guys! We've officially been sent home! We had no power the first 2 days fresh out of the hospital! It was truly terrible! No food, no a.c., no hospital staff... home has been extremely hard. The hospital gave the illusion of this not being as hard as it is. We have alot to learn and so little time to learn it. I go back to work soon :/ and that scares him. He had a panic attack the other day when he saw all of the bills, the prices for his new home life, and his loss of income. Knowing everything u need and not being able to help yourself.. he says "useless" all the time.. hes scared his friends wont want to hang out with him.. he hates his bathroom limitations and doesnt want to go out anywhere.. we need you guys to send us some light and love. If you have a chance to talk or write or even come and see him, just let him know! He has access to facebook for right now as we wait on his phone. But contact him :) talk about normal things.. take his head out of this every now and then :) dont let him become antisocial! Help share our story.. we still need so much help :/ thank you for everything all of you habe already done! We love you
Hey everyone, thank you for joining us in our journey. I just wanted to update everyone :) they're trying to get him a bed at their rehabilitation center. He will still be hospitilazed but he's leaving this facility. He's trepidatious but I think that's just because we don't like change very well. We are creatures of habit and we got comfortable here. But I'm excited to go! He needs a change of scenery. Besides, his feet have started twitching! Not on purpose, and the doctors don't know what it means. They say it could be the synopses are healing and the functionality is coming back. Or it could just be reflex. They're not sure and they aren't that excited. But I believe they do that on purpose because they can't say it's a good thing and then find out later thay it's not. I think they have to do that to protect their own hide. But I am optimistic :) keep up the prayers team! We have a shrine set up in his room with crystals to help funnel the energy to us. We feel everyone's love. Marc has cried to me on multiple occasions from the messages we've gotten and all of the support. I can't tell you how amazing all of you are. Thank you :) and we love you!
Marc finally got out of the ICU! He's still hospitalized, and will be for awhile, but he's no longer critical! His appetite has finally returned and he's ratting his meals on a regular basis. Last but not least, his left foot twitched! He's trying to not focus on that too much though. He wants to work on his injuries from his neck down. Lungs first he said :) but I can't hide my excitement!
