Move mountains for Mark Hodge
Donation protected
Only extraordinary circumstances would prompt us to make an appeal to you on behalf of a person like Mark Hodge. Mark’s tendency would be to brush off his current situation as something that deserves no great fanfare or call for assistance. Those who know Mark well know that he would rather not create a fuss. But we do know Mark, and love him dearly. As such we feel it necessary to bring his story to you, esteemed colleagues, friends, family and simultaneously to appeal for your assistance.
On the night of November 22nd 2017 Mark was rushed to Concordia hospital complaining of stomach pains. After an X-ray was taken, a large “blockage” was located in his abdomen. Mark was rushed to St. Boniface Hospital for an emergency surgery, once the “blockage” was visible, the severity of Mark’s condition became known. A tumour measuring roughly 12 inches in length was discovered, an inoperable tumour had been causing his discomfort. Blocking his lower intestine the surgeons made the decision to give him an emergency colostomy. Mark is still recovering from his surgery, but has taken a sudden turn for the worst. Mark’s illness is terminal and his time is limited. He will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from work.
We are not asking you to donate to the fight against this disease, but to this fight directly. We are asking you to donate to Mark .
The reality of this is a lot to take in. Indeed, it is almost unthinkable. However, this is Mark’s reality and it has not altered the way he faces the world. It has not prompted him to complain or be angry at his lot in life.
Thank you for any donations you can make.
