The Rim of the World School District Odyssey of the Mind program is excited to announce that our elementary “technology team” not only won the district competition this year against all schools in the Inland Empire, but also won the rare Omer Award for exhibiting the spirit of Odyssey during the performance. From there, the team went on to compete against the "best and brightest" in California and triumphed again, qualifying to represent not only our district and our region, but also the state of California and the USA, at the World Competition at University of Michigan in May. Woo hoo! Now we just need to figure out how to get there!! Fast!!!
Our goal is to raise the funds for registration, travel, participation and lodging at the World finals competition, which is $9,500 for the entire team. Will you help us meet our goal?
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program whose mission is to provide creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Through solving challenging open-ended problems, students develop creative-thinking skills that can be applied to real-life situations. Teams from throughout the U.S. and more than 20 other countries participate in the program, which has grown into the largest international creative problem-solving competition worldwide.
The students are very motivated to do what it takes to make it to the World Finals. They've brainstormed fundraising ideas, and made posters for bake sales and lemonade stands, all on their own. As adults, we realize that $9500 is a LOT of cookies and lemonade! So we are hoping that you can help! Thank you so much!
