$4,103 of $20,000 goal

Raised by 48 people in 7 months
31129028_1531080110958250_r.jpeg31129028_1531081342827489_r.jpegI will be returning to Tanzania this September and volunteering at the same school (Step Up Centre). I am very excited to be reunited with my beautiful boys and girls at this NGO school for children ages 3-6, which is in great need of expansion.

This will be a very special visit as I will also be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro (over 19K feet) to raise money for two special causes:

1) Step Up Centre (building expansion) in Moshi, Tanzania

2) Scholarship fund in veterinary and human medicine through the  Institute for Healthcare Communication (from where I will retire in Spring 2019 www.healthcarecomm.org)

I’m asking for your help in the form of a donation (every dollar helps!!) in reaching my fundraising goal. If you do not feel comfortable providing an online donation, please feel free to reach out to me via email or call to discuss another option that meets your needs.

On behalf of my Tanzanian children and IHC, I thank you for your support and help.

No words to fully describe my experience of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro. Hardest thing I’ve ever done yet boy oh boy amazing memories with incredible human beings. I felt surrounded by love and support, while being pushed to my absolute limits. Our team of climbers, guides, and porters were the best. Love and asante sana for my mountain family.

I have arrived in Tanzania!! We had our pre-kili climb meeting with our lead hiking guide, Goodluck. Yes, that’s his name! Turns out there are only 3 climbers (the other 3 rescheduled) for this climb that starts first thing tomorrow morning The other 2 are a newlywed couple from the UK on their honeymoon! They are lovely and adventurous and we already decided that they are now my son and daughter - a kili mountain family !! Here’s a photo and the beautiful smiling woman next to me is Dina who also works fo Climb Kili, the adventure company which I chose for this climb. Color me excited ⛰
