December 13th Morgan was walking the eight blocks from work, to home in downtown Minneapolis. Something seemed a little off as she saw a car pull up alongside her but she continued on. A man got out of the vehicle, chased and tackled her to the ground. Morgan was strong and fought with her assailant- clawing, kicking and fighting for her life. The assailant ran off when those nearby heard her cries for help, leaving her with fourteen stab wounds on the face, arm, neck and back, bleeding out on the curb.

In the wake of the violence it’s amazing that those around came to help Morgan. A pair was quick to call 911, bring her inside and wrapped her up in a blanket until help came.

There are so many questions of why someone would choose to carry out this violent act to a complete stranger. But that’s a question we’ll never know the answer to. It’s something that is seen in the news or right front of you.

Pat Stellick and Morgan have been at the hospital for days, away from work while she recovers.

**This go fund me was set up to help with the costs of their medical bills. Insurance will cover a portion but there will be leftover costs that will put stress on Pat and Morgan.

Hey everyone, Kaylan here.

Last night I had an update ready to go but wanted Morgan to review and add to it. That update was sidelined.

Yesterday Morgan was home. She was recovering with Pat and Pinda managing a little bit of a fever and some pain.
Today, Morgan was readmitted to the hospital with a fever of 102.4 and her blood pressure dropped.

I spoke with Pat and Morgan when the GoFundMe campaign launched. I was afraid that it wasn’t going to really take off and it broke my heart even more. I asked myself questions like “Have we (as a society) gotten used to all this hate floating around in the news?” “Are we stuck in this rut?” “Have we lost to the dark, to the hate?”

You answered. No.

People are amazing. You are amazing.

By donating or sending well wishes you have stood up and took a stand. You are the ones speaking louder, pushing back on the crime that looms, you are the ones making a difference.

Pat and Morgan thank you from the bottom of their hearts. They are so humbled and forever grateful for you. Thank you for your support and your prayers. Thank you.
