Thank you so much for listening to Library of Things Podcast. It’s been a long time coming, but an amazing experience putting these four episodes and bonus features together… from my first talk with the founders in November '16, to meeting and interviewing librarians and borrowers.
Making the podcast has been a real learning curve. I’ve developed the production skills that I inititally learned as an unpaid intern at radio stations and production companies, and have produced these episodes completely independently, with a little constructive feedback from some valued contributors… and of course my amazing interviewees, who gave their time to share their experiences with me.
I’ve spent weekends and evenings travelling across London to conduct interviews, and record and edit each episode, motivated by the knowledge that at some point the stories I wove together could inspire and encourage communities to move to a sharing model, and even more importantly, inform people that such a model and way of life exists!
I’d love to make more podcasts, and am asking for donations to be able to continue without having to interrupt the episodes with adverts for mattresses or grocery boxes.
New projects may include:
- More Library of Things stories
- Hilarious, heartwarming, or embrassing stories of couples meeting
- Social history stories from music and pop-culture (working with long-time journalist Chris from Library of Things)
- Tales from an amazing village in the English countryside
My £350 goal will cover costs of:
- travel
- recording equipment
- editing software
I'm asking for the same amount I spent on the last series to make it easier and quicker this time, and if I raise more than this target I will use the extra to:
- produce more epsiodes
- travel further afield for the best stories
If you would like to show your support for Library of Things podcast, and allow me to branch out with some new exciting shows, then please donate the equivalent of a flat white, or a month's Netflix subscription to help me continue creating!
