Mom's Medical Bills & Car

$165 of $7,000 goal

Raised by 3 people in 12 months
I'm trying to raise money to help my mom pay off a loan that she got to cover medical expenses from her first heart attack and save her car.

It's a long story.

A few years ago, my mom had her first heart attack. She recovered, but was left with massive medical bills. She went back to work and did her best to pay those bills.

She got divorced from her alcoholic abusive husband (finally) and had to move in with her mother.

Things were going well until last month.

My mom went into the emergency with chest pains. The small town hospital decided to have her flown to the city so she could get the care she needed.  The chest pains didn't turn out to be a heart attack.

The doctors checked to make sure the stents in her heart where still working properly, by preforming a heart cath.  Everything was fine. The chest pains were cause by a change in her medications that wasn't working out for her.

Unfortunately the heart cath, caused a clot which broke loose and caused a stroke.

My mom can no longer work or drive.

This brings us to the reason for this gofundme.  Now that she can't work, she can't pay for the loan she got to pay her previous medical bills.

Because she can't pay the loan, she will lose her car. A car that I need to drive her to her doctor appointments, some of which are over 2 hours away.

The loan she got was one big loan to cover her medical bills and her car loan. The loan is in my grandmother's name.  It's all a big mess. I didn't know they had done this until now. I feel that my mom and grandma my have been victicms of some preditory lending practices.

I currently don't have a job and can't take over payments for her. The money raised here will go towards paying the loan off, saving my grandma from attempting to pay for it herself and allowing us to keep the car so that I can drive my mom to her appointents and other places she needs to go.

I'm not a something for nothing kind of person. I've included rewards!

At the levels listed you can get and handmade hat, scarf or cowl. I will knit them using soft yummy yarn.

I'm also including a level for my abstract acrylic pour paintings. Each one of these paintins comes out unique and beatuiful.

Thank you for your support!

Go Fund Me has sent out the payment for the $165 that has been pledged so far. Thank you all so much.

My mom is finished with her physical therapy because she no longer has insurance. We are filing all the paperwork to get her some assistance.

I was able to take the road trip to get her car so I have it out my house to use. I just need to get insurance on it.

I will be making the October car payment with the help of your donations. Thank you.
