The Medal of Honor Grove is the oldest living memorial to our Medal of Honor Recipients in the nation.

Within the 42 acre Grove are areas for all 50 states and our territories, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico. The Chaplains Memorial honors the 9 Chaplains who received the Medal and the Ancient Order of Hibernian's Memorial honors over 150 immigrants who received the Medal of Honor but were not accredited to any state.

Each memorial area has a 7 foot obelisk sitting on a square brick plaza. The recipients are honored on the obelisk and in a plaque placed in the ground in the state where they entered service.

The Grove is located on the 75 acre campus of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge in Pennsylvania. It is open to the public from dawn till dusk daily.

To date, only 3,505 recipients have received the Medal of Honor, our nations highest award for valor in action against an enemy force. It was under President Lincoln, during the Civil War, that the medal was authorized.

The Grove is owned by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge and is maintained and enhanced by the Friends of the Medal of Honor Grove. The Friends Board is comprised of community leaders and MOH Recipients Gen. James Livingston (Ret) and Col. Walter Marm (Ret).

The Friends is a 100% volunteer 501c3 organization  that raises funds for grass cutting, tree removal,  adding new recipients names on obelisks and ground plaques on a yearly basis.

Maintenance of the Grove is costly. Imagine cutting 42 acres every week during the season. In addition we need to take down diseased trees and buy new ones to plant. Any amount, large or small is needed and greatly appreciated.
