Moeen Centre: Helping Hands

Moeen was a young adult with both developmental and physical disabilities. He was living in Scarborough, Canada with his family, until 2005 when he died in a tragic fire accident. Despite this loss, the community gained a new support – a non-profit, founded by his mother, designated to help others like Moeen, and their families. Since 2006, the Moeen Centre has offered a day program that runs Monday to Friday, and has a variety of activities for its participants, such as reading, writing, math, arts & crafts, and computer skills. It has an evening program (KICKStart Program) that helps participants take part in physical activities, to socialize, and have fun! And a Seniors Program on weekends. However, after over ten years of serving young adults in the Scarborough community, the centre is in need of resources.

This GoFundMe page has been created to help support Moeen’s mother to fund these changes. She has done so much for her community, and we want to give back to give her the opportunity to expand her centre. $2, 500 is our goal and our proceeds will divide as follows:

-          $200.00 for a new paint job (primer, and colour change)

-          $500.00 for new sensory equipment

-          $400.00 for field trip money

-          $700.00 for new furniture

-          $500.00 for marketing

-          $200.00 for art supplies and crafts

Any amount of donations will go a long way to help our centre develop and better support our participants.
