The MDM: One Life Unity Project

My brother Mukwa recently underwent a life-saving surgery that has given him a second chance at what would have other been the end to his life. He has faught the ills of short-gut syndrome since his birth; where at the first moment of breath he was only given a 10% chance of survival. For over a year he has struggled with a chronic blood clot in his Mesenteric Artery, which shut off blood to his bowels. Anytime he ate he would get obstructions and would be forced to spend days, weeks, and even months at a time in the hospital. He went in, they sucked the obstruction out, sent him home, and he was back again within days; or many times even hours. I watched this cycle continue for months until finally his body shut down and was sent to the hospital. Eventually, after months of pain and agony they finally found the blood clot in his artery. From there, they did surgery and removed all of his teeth to avoid any infection after surgery; as this was an extremely invasive and exhausting procedure that could easily lead to infection. He was on TPN which is feeding through a bag and goes directly into your blood stream for months before the surgery. After months of all this he recently had the 7-hour procedure where they went in and scrapped the scar tissue out of the little small intestine he has left, before eventually going in and doing a bypass to the mesenteric artery.

Now he sits only a month away from the pivitol age of 30, and the forces above have given him the strength to continue. He is healing ahead of schedule and his spirits are high. He is now back home and is slowly progressing in health. This medical issue has cost him a lot of things. One of which was the ability to go to work. However, since returning home he has taken up handmade jewelry, which is inspired by our Native American heritage.

I am trying to raise support to buy my brother a laptop and action camera that would allow him to help me build a business in Modern Day Mavericks. The recovery is supposed to take a year, and the laptop would allow him to start working by way of video editing, writing, and etc.

He is also eagerly awaiting the day he is able to go to the dentist and get some teeth. Due to medical reasons he is unable to get the necessary work done just yet, so I am also hoping to raise funds to help off-set the cost he is going to have to pay for dental assistance when that time comes.

I understand not everyone can donate, but please truly consider helping if you can. I can assure you this is a cause where the value of your dontion far exceeds the actual dollar amount being put forth.

We are beyond thankful for any and all help you are able to provide. In appreciation of your support I pledge to send you a free copy of my recently self-published Ebook: "Racing Toward Death: One Man's Journey to Free His Soul."

Thank you in advance and have a wonderful day!
