Stephen T Wishnevsky  WINSTON SALEM, NC
In the early morning of February 17th, 2015 Steve Wishnevsky's shop burned to the ground.  This shop was home to Wishbass, where instruments of great quality were created. Please help us help Steve in rebuilding his shop, and let this master luthier continue to do the work he is meant to be doing.  Show your love of music by giving what you can, and plan to buy some great instruments in the future.

Dear Steve, I was heartbroken to find out about the fire, only just now (sometimes news travels slowly). Almost ten years ago, I was idly surfing around Ebay when I stumbled upon the first of your basses that I've ever seen. I kid you not: I sat speechless for probably ten minutes or so, just staring at the screen. I was totally blown away. Having played guitar since 1981 and seen most of what there is to see as far as guitars and basses are concerned - or so I thought - here was a completely different approach; instrument craftsmanship taken to a level I had never seen ir dreamed about before. It took a while, but eventually, I got my Wishbass, and it really lived up to every expectation I could ever have, and more. This truly was and is another dimension. Everywhere I take the bass to play, it grabs the attention of people. But what's more - it's that organic extension of yourself that allows you to perform your very best. Trying any other bass nowadays is like getting a cheap toy. It's like I never really understood what a luthier could do until I got this. Your talent and unique approach is such a contribution to the world of music that it simply must not cease, certainly not from such a stupid thing as a fire. I hope and pray that you will soon get your new workshop up and running and that there will be many more years of instruments from you. May God bless you and lift you up out of the ashes, may you fly on brand new Phoenix wings, soaring to new heights. The whole Wishbass community is behind you. All the greatest, Wishbass #543, Jonathan Newton

People who wait for misfortune and then pounce on the one who experienced it are nothing. You have put so much energy into your community, into music and offering others the opportunity to make music at the Shuffle, on your instruments, you connect people and you write better than you give yourself credit for. You are appreciated, whether you like it or not. Keep on keepin on, Stephen.

Fuck the trolls, Steven. You do what you gotta do to bring it back. Recovery from total loss in a fire is a heroic challenge. Don't give assholes and mosquitos a second thought!
