Healing and Medical expenses for Lola the pig

Our sweet, 7 month old piggy Lola, had a life threatening scare last week. Lola is the sweetest and most sassiest little girl around. She loves to cuddle anyone in reach, loves being held, and never wants to miss out on the fun. She’s super adventurous and isn’t scared of anything. Her and her big piggy brother are the best of friends, yet even though she’s smaller, she is the alpha between them. She completes our family, and the reality of possibly losing her put a hole in our heart.

On June 12th, Lola was continuously vomiting for 12+ hours straight and her snout and pink parts of her body turned blue. She could barely move and her eyes would just stare at us in pain. After being hospitalized for 2 nights at 2 different emergency clinics to figure out what was making her so sick, they transferred her yet again to a radiologist specialist clinic to take an abdomen ultrasound, since they didn’t have the machinery nor knew what was wrong with her. 


The ultrasound sonogram revealed that there was a major blockage of different fabric fibers and rug in her stomach. She had to be transferred to a 4th vet to perform immediate open stomach surgery to remove the obstruction... . They didn’t think she was going to make it, because she was so weak and lost almost half her body weight.



Everyday for 5 days straight she’s been hooked to an IV and dextrose sugar fluids to keep her hydrated and blood sugars up. Thankfully she was a fighter and was able to make it through surgery, and spent the next couple of days on 24 hour watch, and even went home with our exotic vet so he could make sure she was stabilizing and healing correctly, post op. 



With all the numerous vet bills adding up, any support would help us out a ton. Your words, thoughts and prayers will help us get through this time of healing for Lola. All of the vet bills have surpassed $7000, so any help and support is more than appreciated. Even $1 or $5, is something that will help us during this time to pay off her surgery and continued hospice care.
