A special Bay Area community road trip  marks the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Led by San Jose State University students who wanted to learn first hand about MLK from  the people who actually lived and marched with him. Northern California community elders share personal insights and memories of growing up in the  South, and migrating with their families to California. On the trip they  reflect on where they  were the moment they heard the news that Dr. King had been shot. Photojournalist Dr. D. Michael Cheers organized this unique and powerful  learning experience paid for entirely by donations from the public.
