John Edward "Ed" Decker (born 1935) is an American counterculture apologist and evangelist known for his in-depth research studies, books, films and public presentations. Tens of thousands have come to know the real Jesus through his ministry.
Ed is the co-author of the best selling book, The God Makers, which has become a classic document on the subject of Mormonism and Fast Facts on False Teaching a book that teaches he truth about many different religions and cults. Ed Decker is a commentator, author, blogger, speaker and founder/International Director of Saints Alive in Jesus. He is a lover of life in Christ.
Ed is a former Mormon who spent almost twenty years of his life as a member of the “Holy Melchizedek” priesthood, a “Temple Mormon” and was active in many areas of leadership in local LDS churches. Ed became a born-again Christian in 1975 when he discovered the real love of God in Christ. Ed dedicated his life to exposing the cults and helping those caught up in them to know the grace of Jesus.
His website, www.saintsalive.com has been actively serving the church and seekers of truth across the globe since the early 1990s. Millions of pages of vital information have been downloaded over the years
Last year, the website was hacked and literally destroyed. The server had to shut down and delete all files. Ed is in the process of rebuilding a far more secured website and is recreating all those missing files.
Because of Ed’s age and health, his Son, Jason Decker is taking over the leadership of the ministry. He will be travelling though the country over the next months, re-establishing connections with many ministries and churches. And making new contacts as he travels.
But, time is of the essence for Ed. This last year, Ed was diagnosed with Macular degeneration and that has spurred him to take some aggressive steps to ensure that his life’s work will not lost along with his sight. Along with the rebuilding of the website and many hundreds of ministry files and teachings, he has another critical project,
Ed is converting his almost 40 years of research into a series of free eBooks that will be available as they are completed. The list already includes:
