More and more everyday, I am in awe of black women who defy the odds and create a way for others. We tend to keep our heads down and work to protect others without taking care of ourselves. I am also disgusted with how easily it is for people to erase us from the narrative. As a creative with a heart of an acitivist I felt it important to say something. Therefore, I am currently working on my second EP called " To be Seen and Heard"
In this time especially in America black women don't always get the appriecation they desrve. I wanted to create music that shows how mutlidimensional black women are. That we are more than a hip switch and a "sassy" catch phrase. We are humans with complicated emotions. Yes! black girl magic IS real but, we also get tired. We aren't allowed to be tired.
In true indie artist fashion, I don't have any investors giving me money. I pay for everything myself. I love making music but its expensive. Projects can cost thousands of dollars and thats just on the recording. Thats not counting, mixing, mastering and marketing. This EP isvery important to me. With your help this EP finally can be made. Like us black women Its a story that deserves to be SEEN AND HEARD.
