Mission Alaska 2017

Often called the “Last Frontier,” Alaska remains a vast mission field with far too few ministers, and churches to reach families scattered hundreds of miles apart in remote settlements.  Each summer, Alaska Mission for Christ welcomes around 800 volunteer missionaries to share God’s love and truth with the children and families of Alaska.  I am thrilled to join other volunteer missionaries from Bethany Lutheran Church who will provide a week long Vacation Bible School in two different sites in the Mat-Su Valley about two hours from Anchorage.  Our trip will be from June 24th- July 3rd of this year. 

We will be “camping out” in sleeping bags on the floor of a local Lutheran church, preparing our own meals, and bringing along all the supplies needed for our week of VBS.  We hope to reach many of the children in the area as well as their parents.  We look forward to ministering to children of all ages, to teach them about Jesus, to pray with them, to sing songs, and to make crafts.

We can’t do this mission outreach alone, and we would like to invite you to join our team in prayer for those who will minister and those who will be ministered to.  Pray that hearts will be open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that the Lord will guide our words and actions.  Pray for safe travel and that God will supply all our needs, physically and spiritually.  Pray especially that God will bring eternal fruit from the seeds we sow through His word!  “And pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel.”  Ephesians 6:19
