Who are we?
We are a group of students from Swinburne University that are currently working towards visualizing our short film titled: Missing Happiness.
What's the short film about?
“Missing Happiness” is a 12-minute narrative drama, set in 2000s Australia that follows the journey of a social worker and his internal struggle to live with the death of his son. To cope with his grief, the social worker develops a close relationship with the son of a client and from there, he slowly loses the ability to separate his personal life from his professional one, setting himself up for further emotional turmoil.

Writer/Director - Nathanael Schokman
Nathanael Schokman is the director of ‘Missing Happiness’ and is currently completing his studies at Swinburne University. He has worked on numerous projects extending to short films, documentaries and music videos and has acted as the Director of Cinematography, Editor and Producer within said projects. Nathanael has always loved cinema and the impact it can have on people. As a filmmaker, his goal is to create films that’ll affect the audience in interesting and meaningful ways.
Producer - Aidan Walsh
Aidan is the Producer on this project. While studying at Swinburne University, he has had experience on a multitude of projects over the span of his studies ranging from short films to music videos and documentaries. He's excited to work alongside the team in creating and visualizing a strong story.
Director Of Photography - Oliver Lucantonio
Oliver is a hard working, up and coming Director of Photography, he's always been enamoured with the possibilities of visual storytelling and loves experimenting and collaborating on set to achieve compelling and unique compositions he hopes will heighten the emotion of a scene, as well as draw the viewer deeper into a narrative and closer to the characters on screen.
Sound Recordist - Brody Willmott
Brody Willmott, the sound designer and recordist for this project, is in his final year of study at Swinburne University and has had experience in shooting and recording amateur short films, advertisements and documentaries. Interests include all forms of media: film, art, music and design, just to name a few
Editor - Jeremy Ng
Hey guys! My name is Jeremy and I'll be the editor for our short film "Missing Happiness". What interests me most about this film is the originality and authenticity of the story we are trying to pull off. This will be one of the most grueling projects I will be embarking on as an editor but I'm looking to learning as much as I can from this experience. It's gonna one heck of a ride.
