Miss Ann's in-home care
Ann Slomkowski is very well know around the Michigan Morgan horse show scene and beyond and many of us can't remember a time she hasn't been at a show. She has touched all of us with the smile she always has, a kind word, an encouraging word, and always willing to help the fellow exhibitor.
Over the past few years Ann has faced some challenging health issues; where she beat the cancer in her breasts and it came back and Ann's fighting it, but as cancer can do, besides take its toll on the body, it takes its toll on the finances, and that's why we're starting this Gofundme to help Ann and Mike during this time to help with the in-home care for Ann and to just give a little back to this wonderful lady.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at 7:00 pm with the family receiving friends beginning at 4:00 pm at the First Methodist Church of South Lyon located at 640 South Lafayette, South Lyon, MI.
Ann will be laid to rest at the Cherry Valley Cemetery in Evart, MI.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Methodist Church of South Lyon or the Make a Wish Foundation in Ann's name.
Mrs. Slomkowski, You are such an amazing person, and I am so blessed that I got to have you as a teacher for two years. You always had a smile on your face and you cared about each student as a learner and as a person. Thank you for always asking and really caring about how I was doing and for the endless devotion that you had to my education. You were one of the only teachers who could keep the class under control, while still maintaining respect and admiration from every single student. I remember how you would let me come in early on any day if I was struggling on a certain topic, and you truly wanted to help. Even though I didn't like doing math homework, your spirit and love of teaching made an impact in my education for sure. Thank you for being such a great role model and for forming me into a student who isn't afraid to ask "why?" You are incredible and my family is praying for you. ♥
Our family is so sad to hear this news. May Mrs. S rest in peace. We will keep her and her family in our prayers. The Yankees
