My names is Michele and along with Tao I run a small guesthouse in a rural area of Laos.
Here we promote a way of tourism that involves the communities and make the tourists in contact with them.
We are asking for your help because an awful situation occurred.
Miss Hom, her 3 kids and her 16 months old daughter remained with only few bags of clothes and 3kg of rice.
They have no place to stay and she sees no future.
She fled away from the horrible abuses of the husband and found refuge in our guesthouse.
Being a woman in places like this can be hard and can easily become terrible if you get in misfortune.
Miss hom is a very kind heart woman.
She lost her first husband 8 years ago.
She had to sell their rice field and another land in order to pay the hospital bills trying to cure his diseases.
At that time she was taking care of a baby, 2 small children and a 13 years old girl.
She got married again after a couple of years, considering, as is usual in this part of the world, that a lonely woman in Laos has no chance to raise honestly kids by herself and make a living.
The life with the new husband wasn't easy and wasn't wealthy. We helped them a lot in the past whenever they were in need and we sent the kids to school.
Sometimes things seemed to get better.
She worked hard basically every day and she settle down a nice farm with many fruit trees on the land of the husband.
She try to make compromises with the abusive and violent behaviour of the husband ( on her and her kids ) hoping in a change and in a bright future.
She then continuing to working hard even when at the age of 46 she got pregnant.
She worked till the day before giving birth and she rest for only 11 days after it.
She left with nothing
Now, fleeding from that horrible situation, she lost all the fruit of her work. She won't even get the rice that she has effortly planted last month.
Her relatives tried to help her but they can barely make a living
She has no house, no money, no land to grow rice and 4 children to take care of.
I only can imagine how she can feel.

Miss hom and the kids are immensely thankful even for the smallest help.
The money we will raise for them will be used to.
- Buy enough rice for supporting them till the time they will be able to grow their own rice.
- Buy a land and tools in order to be able to grow rice.
- Build a small and humble house.
- Send the kids to school
- Make them smile again
