Miss Canada Globe Petite 2019

Donation protected
Born and raised in Richmond and Delta, Nicole, 28, has been selected as a National Finalist for the Miss Canada Globe Petite 2019 contest in Toronto in August. Having dealt with many traumatic life experiences, Nicole hopes to use the pageant experience to support, encourage and inspire people world wide to be the best, healthiest version of themselves!

Through overcoming adversities such as losing her father in an accident when she was 13 and then losing her step-father to ALS 4 years ago, Nicole has maintained high spirits and positivity in her life. She loves to make people laugh and uses comedy as a coping mechanism. She has always strived for excellence and achievement, and poured many hours into her work to overcome the grief and loss. Nicole was a Commercial Pilot for a number of years flying both passengers and cargo around British Columbia and Alberta. Her most recent pilot position was the Chief Pilot for Capital City Skydiving. Nicole worked alongside Transport Canada to develop training programs and set an industry wide standard for Skydiving Operations. A back injury led her on a different career path and her entrepreneurial spirit flourished. Having a love for animals and a keen interest in dogs, Nicole started a dog walking, and pet sitting business, but a move to Vancouver Island, and then Mayne Island led her again in a different life path. In January 2018 Nicole sustained a foot injury that has developed into a chronic pain condition and just lost her job in a restaurant due to a lack of mobility. Nicole has interests in health and nature and is currently focusing her energy on Om That Note Yoga and Wellness Studio and Pacifica on Mayne, a paddle board business, which is a satellite location of Pacifica Paddlesports.

Nicole has a kind and giving heart and will give you the shirt off her back. She is an active member of the Mayne Island Lions Club and spends many hours volunteering throughout her community. She has also volunteered with local animal shelters, the BC SPCA, World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine, and she even shaved her head to raise money for the BC Children’s Hospital in their Balding for Dollars campaign. Nicole is also an active blood donor with the Canadian Blood Services, and has volunteered with the Variety Club Children’s Charity Auction and Christmas Breakfast. In work situations, Nicole has been a part of Safety Management Teams instilling procedures to mitigate risks and hazards associated with aviation.

Nicole has many talents and a comedic personality. She loves painting and just completed an art show in June 2019. Nicole also enjoys writing children’s literature and is seeking publication of her first manuscript. Some of her many interests include skydiving, flying, swimming, yoga, paddle boarding, kayaking, camping, health, wellness, nutrition, and travelling.

In closing, Nicole strives to encourage individuals to use their gifts and talents to overcome depression and grief, chronic pain, and injury and to find gratitude in their lives. She would be the perfect role model for all Canadians as she is extremely relatable, empathetic, and understanding.

Thank you so much for your support
