Mirror Fund - Koloa Dance House

In August 2019 we opened Koloa Dance House, the new home of KUGA Dance. We worked quickly to give the KUGA students a new place to dance & create after the previous studio space became unavailable in April 2019. We opened our doors, knowing we would still need to iron out some key details. One big detail: MIRRORS! We actually had a full wall of donated MIRRORS ready to pick up in August, but it fell through at the last second. We have spent the last 4 months looking extensively to find used & new MIRRORS on island, on the outer islands, & on the mainland with no luck. We have finally found a local glass/MIRROR business that is giving us a discounted rate for 6’x30’ of MIRRORS & working with us so we can save by installing them ourselves. It is not at all easy or comfortable to ask for financial assistance in this way, but we want our focus to remain on Dance education, and keeping our programs affordable for our students. It’s time to move forward in providing a quality space with the necessary tools for our dance students.
