❤️ Leaving his Mark on the World ❤️




My Dad, Mark Greenwood, was a wonderful man. He was a son, a father, a grandfather, and a treasured friend to many across the world. He grew up in Maine as a good ol’ country boy and his heart still resides in his home state along with his parents and siblings. 

He was a Disabled Veteran having served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Trepang submarine. He takes great pride in his military service and went back to college in his 50’s to obtain a Masters in Social Work so that he could counsel and help other veterans navigate the often difficult VA System. 

He was originally admitted to the ICU in Arizona, where he resided, for a severe case of pneumonia and a double kidney infection. This illness quickly escalated and led to him being intubated, sedated, medically paralyzed, and having multiple organ failure. He was put on full life support machines at this time.  Myself (his daughter Hannah), my brother, Ben, and my husband, Jim, made our way from New Hampshire to Arizona the day after he was intubated as we were told he most likely would not survive the next few days. 

Mark lost his battle against his multiple illnesses on February 8th at 10:26pm. He fought bravely and his family was by his side when he took his final breath.

We are now collecting funds to purchase books to be donated in his honor to his fellow veterans. He was an avid reader and loved to get lost in a good book. We are hoping to be able to share his love of the written word with his military family all over New England.
