Tom Bunch and Team need help for our Mandie!
On May 9, 2014, a week before her 38th birthday, Mandie was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Completely surprised, she took immediate action and began chemotherapy 10 days later. With only the long distance support of her sister, Molly, who lives in Arizona, Mandie battled through months of chemotherapy.
Fast forward to the present, where Mandie has been a faithful part of the Tom Bunch Team for almost two years, and has quite the customer fan base. After having been in remission for less than a year, she was recently told that a low grade form of the cancer has returned, and if it progresses, she will need to undergo a bone marrow transplant.
Here’s how you can help! Despite paying almost $500 a month in health insurance, Mandie’s medical bills seem insurmountable. Weeks ago, she was unable to receive a much needed PET scan, (used to determine the progress of the cancer), because she had an $11,000 outstanding hospital balance from 2015. Having exhausted all her resources, Tom Bunch and Team turn to you.
Initially, Mandie was quite hesitant about this campaign. After hearing her breakdown on the phone with the hospital, Tom Bunch, employer, began to spin his wheels about how he could help. Treating his employees like family is second nature to him, so when the Go-Fund Me idea was suggested by another employee, he was very receptive. Mandie, on the other hand, having always been extremely independent, was quite reluctant to accept her bosses’ proposal. However, after some consideration, she warmed up to the idea, and finally realized that is it okay to accept help from others.
