Tom Bunch and Team need help for our Mandie!

On May 9, 2014, a week before her 38th birthday, Mandie was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Completely surprised, she took immediate action and began chemotherapy 10 days later. With only the long distance support of her sister, Molly, who lives in Arizona, Mandie battled through months of chemotherapy.

Fast forward to the present, where Mandie has been a faithful part of the Tom Bunch Team for almost two years, and has quite the customer fan base. After having been in remission for less than a year, she was recently told that a low grade form of the cancer has returned, and if it progresses, she will need to undergo a bone marrow transplant.

Here’s how you can help! Despite paying almost $500 a month in health insurance, Mandie’s medical bills seem insurmountable. Weeks ago, she was unable to receive a much needed PET scan, (used to determine the progress of the cancer), because she had an $11,000 outstanding hospital balance from 2015. Having exhausted all her resources, Tom Bunch and Team turn to you.

Initially, Mandie was quite hesitant about this campaign. After hearing her breakdown on the phone with the hospital,  Tom Bunch, employer, began to spin his wheels about how he could help. Treating his employees like family is second nature to him, so when the Go-Fund Me idea was suggested by another employee, he was very receptive. Mandie, on the other hand, having always been extremely independent, was quite reluctant to accept her bosses’ proposal. However, after some consideration, she warmed up to the idea, and finally realized that is it okay to accept help from others.

We welcome and appreciate any penny, prayer or positive thought you are willing to give. Mandie’s well-being is very important to us, and we want to help her in any way possible. Your donation will help Mandie afford the medical treatment she needs.

Please, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions and many thanks in advance!

Update 6 - On February 27, 2018, Mandie got great news from her doctor…she is in remission! The cancer is gone from her bone marrow and her PET scans are clear! This is terrific news!! We are so grateful for this wonderful outcome and on behalf of Mandie and all of us here at Tom Bunch, we thank YOU for all the support and love and generosity you have shown her over these last months. Mandie literally would not be alive today were it not for the love you have shown her through your donations to this page. From the bottom of our hearts - thank you, thank you, thank you.
We ask again for more help today, as Mandie is not cleared to return to work until the end of May, three months from now. We need more donations to hold her over until she can return to work, which she is eager to do just as soon her medical team clears her. You all have been so gracious and kind and we are counting on you to continue to hold Mandie up in your prayers as she passes through the last phase of this ordeal. Please give whatever you can give, and know that Mandie and the Tom Bunch Team, and all her family and friends, will be forever grateful to all of you!

Good afternoon Tom Bunch and Team Family and Friends,

First, a huge THANK YOU to all of you who have donated your positive thoughts, prayers, and pennies to our awesome technician, Mandie Miller; we sincerely appreciate it.

Since her initial remission in March, Mandie has participated in a series of monthly chemotherapy treatments. Unfortunately, she has not progressed as doctors hoped she would. On Friday, October 27th, Mandie will undergo a bone marrow transplant; a treatment that will cause her to be out of work for 6 months. Her last day with us before her treatment will be this Thursday, October 19th.

Many of you have benefited from Mandie's skills, and enjoyed her positive personality. Our Go Fund Me Campaign for Mandie is still active, and any penny, prayer, or positive thought sent her way would mean a lot.

Hi everyone, thank you for your continued support of our dearest Mandie. Her first doctor appointment, since the cancelled-due-to-lack-of-finances-visit originally scheduled in January, took place on Monday, March 13th. Much to our dismay, the results were not positive. The cancer has spread, and she is now classified as Stage 4. Nonetheless, Mandie's positive outlook and feelings of gratefulness continue to radiate. "Not having to worry about which bills not to pay in order to afford my healthcare is such a blessing. I'm so humbled by all the prayers, love and support that has been given to me." Starting in April, Mandie will begin for the 2nd time, chemotherapy treatments. She feels confident that she will be able to overcome this, just as she did before. Please continue to support her as able, whether financially, through well wishes, warm thoughts or prayers- we appreciate it all!
