Mira Moves Mountains

My brother James and his wife Nikki have a beautiful, happy, curious, sweet, patient, and strong baby girl named Mira Katherine. Mira is loved by anyone who crosses her path- family, friends, and strangers alike. Mira has cerebral palsy. As you may have read on Nikki & James's blog, Mira Moves Mountains, Mira's disability manifests in a variety of ways - some cute, charming and heart-meltingly sweet ways (think doll baby), and also in alarming physical ways that result in low muscle tone, spasticity, difficulty holding her head up, poor/impossible balance and motor skills, trouble swallowing, reflux, and more. Over the course of her 15+ months on earth, Mira has been to countless doctors, neurologists, specialists, hospitals, and urgent care centers for tests and treatment of acute issues.

James and Nikki are dedicated, loving, admirable parents who want the best for Mira and have been advocating for her since they started seeing signs and symptoms when Mira first began missing milestones. Mira began receiving outpatient OT/PT/speech therapy services in the summer, and she has been attending Children's TLC since 12/2016 - an amazing special needs school that she adores.

Family and friends are setting up this Gofundme for Mira to help this wonderful family with medical expenses and adaptive supplies. We are looking to buy her a lightweight, adaptive seat in the near future that will make everyday tasks such as going to the store easier, and so that she can sit with the group and spend time with her peers. Next, a pediatric wheelchair.
