Dear family and friends,
We are excited to announce the launch of our Houston Chapter of Minds Matter. Minds Matter is a National organization located in 14 cities around the US.
Our goal is to transform the lives of accomplished high school students from low-income families by broadening their dreams and preparing them for college success. Our students are carefully selected from a group of highly qualified candidates, to attend our intensive three-year program which includes group academic instruction, personalized mentoring, and summer enrichment programs. Our students are committed to attend our program when they enter 10th grade until they graduate.
Minds Matter is 100% free for the student and family. We work really hard to ensure there is no financial burden upon the family and the process is worked seamlessly into their everyday lives. In order to do this, we need your help! We are working to raise money for our students so our very first year is as successful as we know it can be. The cost of instruction, supplies, educational trips and summer programs is about $4,500 a year per student. Along with other avenues of fundraising, we are seeking donations from family and friends at this time with the hopes to be fully funded by the end of the year.
