East Aurora needs a Main Street presence for our Presidential site. The Aurora Historical Society (all dedicated volunteers) have developed an exciting plan with sculptor Susan Geissler. Imagine sitting with Millard Fillmore, our 13th president and the poorest man to ever rise to the office, as he studies his dictionary, his first purchase and an indication of his love of learning. Talk about a photo op!
The project will include landscaping, a walkway and signage to lead visitors from all over the US to our charming little Honeymoon Cottage of 1826. The AHS is using several forms of fundraising to reach our project goal of $140K. This GoFundMe is part of a matching challenge from a local foundation who has promised $50K if we raise $75K! Be a part of enhancing the rich history of East Aurora. Gifts of $500 or more will be acknowledged with a site plaque.
