Military Families Rebuild After Earthquake Damages

At O’Banion Real Estate & Relocation Services, we don’t just care for the properties we manage but also for the well-being of each and every homeowner and tenant we form a relationship with.
As you can imagine, the November 30 earthquake affected many of our homeowners and tenants. Work orders immediately started pouring in, and altogether there were a total of 478 damage reports. When a State of Disaster was declared, we believed the State of Alaska would provide financial relief to those who truly needed it, however there was a hidden limitation. The State of Alaska is not offering relief to our homeowners because they were not living in the unit when the earthquake occurred. This includes our active-duty military homeowners who were sent outside of Alaska by the U.S. Military. Literally hundreds of military families have been impacted by this event. I chose four homeowners to assist due to the amount of loss they suffered. The four people I selected to help exceeded $15k in damages, and two individuals have total loss of property.
For this reason, our company started this GoFundMe to ease the financial burden of those four individuals. Our company has already donated $4,000 to this fund to help these individuals, and now we are asking for your help. No matter the size of the donation, your contribution helps these military families rebuild and recoup from the losses they will be dealing with for the foreseeable future.
