Marathon Of Hope - Part 2

Donation protected
Starting Monday June 11, 2018 I will be walking from Longlac, Ontario starting at the iconic little White Church that recently burnt down to the Terry Fox monument located just outside Thunder Bay to raise awareness for Mental Health. I will be needing sponsors for expenses as well. During this journey, I will be needing a driver that will be along my side the whole way. I plan on doing a marathon a day, walking, with a 50lb weighted vest and 45lb bar on my shoulders to symbolize the everyday burden Mental Health issues cause. Please please please LIKE, SHARE, AND COMMENT on this post. The goal is to raise $100,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association. Sponsors are more than welcome to put decals on my truck for the cause. Also, all sponsors will receive a social media post in return for their generous donation. The Reason Why: I myself have been suffering from a mental illness since I was 16. Whether it be due to concussions, seeing/going through stuff that no child should bare to experience, or truthfully not knowing who to identify as. As in I felt not accepted by my white nor indigenous counterparts to a full 100% acceptance. No matter who you are, your beliefs, skin color, sexuality or anything that you're ashamed/terrified of being because of the people surrounding you just remember that there are people out there that love you for exactly who you are. Dont ever forget that, embrace who you are, and more importantly love who you are. Recently, two months ago to be exact I started taking an anti-depressant, 20mg dose daily, that changed my life for the better and actually more than likely saved it. I was to the point where I was planning out who I would write notes to and sleeping/laying in my bed till 5 PM on the daily. It wasn't until I called a mental health hotline that saved my life and turned it around for the better. At this point, I'm currently working with my family doctor, friends and family as I got the go ahead to start the process of going off the anti-depressants. Which is extremely exciting for me! Also, last year I lost my Auntie whom was pregnant to a suspected suicide, that was the rumour floating around the community. About 2 years prior I lost one of my childhood bestfriends to mental health issues. This is dear to my heart and soul. I am beyond motivated and inspired to complete this journey. To sum up and maybe give you an idea of who I am and what I'm about, I have Terry Fox tattooed on my arm. All are welcome to join and run alongside me with or without added weight. I have already received tremendous support from well everyone, which I can't say thank you enough for. Chi Miigwetch for taking the time out of your day to read this lengthy post but I promise you 100% of the donations will go to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) as GoFundMe will be in charge of all funds. Love all because we're all one Yours truly, Anthony Petten Mental Health Advocate #AllOne #MentalHealthAwareness #Yourenotalone #Lovethyneighbour #MilesForSmilesWalk
