As you all know my father was diagnosed with Liver Cancer earlier this year. Anyone who has ever met my father knows he'd go to the ends of the earth for you. He has always been there for his family and friends and I am who I am because of him.
My Father lives a quiet life in New Hampshire with my Mother and their chocolate lab Sophie. Throughout this entire ordeal which has included many many trips to Lebanon for chemo, months he spent on dialysis, the week in the emergency room that almost claimed his life, and the roller coaster of good and bad news, he has never stopped working towards making sure my mother will be taken care of. He's even determined to return to work.
The hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life was to drive my parents home from the hospital after learning the first round of chemo failed and his tumor had doubled in size. Sitting in the driver’s seat doing my best not to lose it, I was thinking how I couldn't even imagine what he was going through. To be fighting for so long, to come back from the brink, to feel so positive about the treatments only to receive that kind of news was devastating. I’ll never forget as I was thinking of these things, he turned to me and asked how I was doing. There he was, getting some of the worst news anyone could ever get and he was worried about how I was doing. That's who he is though; a good man who no matter what always puts others well being ahead of his.

My father has always been a cowboy at heart. He would play cowboys and Indians as a child, he rode and raced horses as a young adult, and now he donates to Native American charities. My father’s other passion is hunting. It’s something that will always remind him of his father and it makes him feel close to him. It is something I’ve also been able to share with him. Some of our best times together have been at deer camp and some of my fondest memories with him. It has always meant undistracted time together and opportunities to talk with each other. My father’s dream hunt is buffalo hunting on a reservation out west. It’s something that blends together his two greatest passions. This summer I want to surprise him with the trip he's always wanted to do but never had the chance to do.
Your help will enable me to give back to him and to be witness to that experience with him. Knowing this came from his family and friends would mean the world to him.
Buffalo hunts tend to be booked by late January so we are running the clock down. Your support and contributions will give him the incredible hunt he has always dreamed of.
