I am raising funds to compete at RAG 2018 to qualify for the greatest ultra race in the world RAAM, Race Across America in 2019.
RAG 2018 is a case of unfinished business. I was leading the race in 2017 with less than 300km to go when I had to abandon with a muscle issue in what was the fastest race in over 20 years! Thankfully there was no damage done and the issue will not reoccur.
Preparations for RAG 2018 are already underway. World renowned physio, Ger Hartmann has been helping me with conditioning the body, preparing me for the training loads and the race itself.
I've invested in lighter, faster and more comfortable bikes. The support crew from RAG '17 are already preparing for the race and their experience from last year will be invaluable.
Unlike many of the racers, I am not a sponsored athlete. RAG 2018 is the perfect race to put me in the "shop window" for corporate support and sponsorship going forward.
