Since the ealry 2000s CTMBC have been running Tuesday night racing in the Lidsdale State forest without major incident.
Then, earlier this year we had two major neck injuries within a couple of weeks of each other. It was a shock to all involved but most of all to the two casulties.
Mick Warren's crash has left him with a plate in his neck and nerve damage that will be a long time healing. As a self employed machinist the finacial impact of this injury is far greater than just the medical expenses.
Roy Barlow cracked C1 and as it is too risky to opperate in that location he has been in a brace since the accident and will need to continue to wear it until the bones knitt themselves. It's a long frustrating process for someone as active as Roy.
While both Roy and Mick have retained full body function and, thankfully their injuries are not worse, it is a long road to recovery.
Medical expenses should be covered by their insurances it's all the little things adding up that we want to help them with. ie travelling to Sydney for medical check ups, scans and treatment, medicines, rehab and the general inconveniences.
Every little bit will help and also show them we are thinking of them in those times when the long recovery drags them down.
If you can't donate money your time is also valuable. Calling in to say G'day or to lend a hand to do the little things we take for granted but their injuries restrict or simply lending a symaphetic ear can all help.
