Michelle's Hungary Missionary Trip

Hello,
My name is Michelle Pettet and I am currently a freshman at Concordia University of Irvine. I am majoring in biology, pre-medicine. I am also part of CUI track and field team. In a desire to push myself outside of my comfort zone while simultaneously serving others I have applied and have been recently selected to go on a mission trip with Concordia to Hungary from June 22 to July 12th.
During those couple of weeks, a group of us will conduct two week-long English camps for junior high and high school students with the intention of strengthening their Christian faith and introducing them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Camps will consist of English, sports, crafts, music, Bible studies, city-wide scavenger hunts, disco dances, big group games, and much, much more.
When I am in Hungary, I’ll experience a new an environment with new people and surroundings. I believe this trip will allow me to open up my eyes and experience what God has in store for me. I will have the opportunity to build relationships and share my faith with the Hungarian students and come into contact with. I am thrilled to see God change the lives of so many different people, including mine during this trip.
While I am extremely excited about the upcoming summer, I know that I cannot accomplish this task alone. I am asking you to please support me with your prayers throughout the next several months as I prepare for and participate in this mission trip.
I am also asking you to be a part of this mission trip by investing in my life and in the lives of the people that I will have the opportunity to meet in Hungary. During the next several months, I will be working very hard to raise the finances to go on this mission trip. I need to cover the entire cost of my trip through the generosity of others, as well as through the fundraising work that I do.
The total cost of this trip will cost of $3200.00. By mid-January, $1500 must be collected to pay for the airline tickets. These expenses include airfare, housing, food, and camp supplies, among many other necessities. But with your generosity, other fundraiser activities, and God’s will I know the cost will not be an issue.
Aside from your prayers, any monetary amount you are willing to give is greatly appreciated. Please make any checks out to Concordia University Irvine with my name in the memo section.
