To Michael Placide loving memory ...
On Sunday, July 31 2016 Michael Placide died 3 days after drowning at the JCC swimming pool.
My name is Diane Levy, I was a member at the JCC and not a lifeguard when I pulled Michael out of the swimming pool on July 29th . I never met him before but I will always remember Michael when I hold him in my arms ... his weight and the expression of his eyes ...
He was just 8 years old, a happy and healthy boy who was playing and enjoying a summer day at the JCC pool.
He turned 9 on the day he passed away.
His family will never be the same since this tragic accident ... "He was the light of the family" his mom said to me over the phone on September 12th.
I can't stop thinking about the mom, her screaming and crying in pain when I went to Englewood hospital 45mn later after the accident.
I can't imagine the sadness and the pain this family is feeling and what they are going through right now ...
I am trying to raise money to cover the costs of his funeral but also to help the family financially.
The mom, Celia was a nanny for a family in Englewood and obviously she can not work since the accident. They live in Brooklyn and have 3 other young children to take care.
My thought and prayers are with them every single day and they need our help ...
I will be so thankful if you can participate in any way you can, anything will be a blessing for this devastated family.
