Michaela´s family would like to thank you most warmly for donating so generously. Unfortunately, Michaela did not have the opportunity to complete her cancer treatment. She passed on last night to a place of peace.

My name is Michaela. I am 35 years old, married and mother of an eight-year-old son.
In December, 2015, I was diagnosed with advanced-stage cervical cancer – despite annual screening during my gynaecological check-ups.
The chemotherapy and radiation treatment I’ve undergone so far has been unsuccessful. My doctors give me just a few more months to live.
My last chance is what is known as combined cancer therapy. It consists of regional chemotherapy followed by a number of cycles of immune cell therapy.
Regional chemotherapy is restricted to the affected part of the body. A high concentration of chemicals is fed into the bloodstream through the artery supplying the tumour and the tumour site, allowing it to target the cancer directly. The regional chemotherapy is carried out by Prof. Aigner in the Medias Clinic, Burghausen.
In the subsequent immune cell therapy executed by Prof. Schirrmacher (Immunologisch Onkologisches Zentrum – Immunology and Cancer Centre, in Cologne), the patient’s own blood cells are removed and, in an elaborate process, dendritic cells grown which play the key role in priming the body’s immune system to combat the cancer. In addition, an oncolytic (cancer-destroying) virus is introduced, which further battles the tumour.
The costs for this therapy which could save my life run to ca. EUR 75,000.
The statutory health insurance does not cover these costs.
Unfortunately, this sum is well beyond our means.
But I will not stop fighting the disease. It is not just for me; I am also fighting for my husband, for my son and for my family.

Michaelas Kampf gegen den Krebs
Mein Name ist Michaela. Ich bin 35 Jahre alt, verheiratet und habe einen achtjährigen Sohn.
Im Dezember 2015 wurde bei mir Gebärmutterhalskrebs im fortgeschrittenen Stadium festgestellt - trotz jährlicher Krebsvorsorge beim Frauenarzt.
Die bis jetzt durchgeführten Chemotherapien und Bestrahlungen sind ohne Erfolg geblieben. Die Ärzte geben mir nur noch wenige Monate zum Leben.
Meine letzte Chance ist eine sogenannte kombinierte Krebstherapie. Sie besteht aus einer regionalen Chemotherapie und anschließender Immunzellentherapie mit mehreren Zyklen.
Die regionale Chemotherapie beschränkt sich auf die betroffenen Körperregionen. Das Medikament wird dabei in hoher Konzentration über die den Tumor und die Tumorregion versorgende Arterie zugeführt und kann damit seine volle Wirkung direkt vor Ort entfalten. Durchgeführt werden soll die regionale Chemotherapie von Prof. Dr. Aigner vom Medias-Klinikum, Burghausen.
Bei der anschließenden Immunzellentherapie bei Prof. Dr. Schirrmacher (immunologisch onkologisches Zentrum in Köln) werden bluteigene Zellen entnommen und aufwendig zu dendritischen Zellen gezüchtet, die für die Immunreaktion des Körpers gegen den Krebs die Schlüsselrolle spielen. Zusätzlich wird ein onkolytisches (die Krebszellen zerstörendes) Virus eingesetzt, das den Tumor bekämpft.
Die Summe für die gesamte Therapie, die mir das Leben retten könnte, beläuft sich auf ca. 75.000,- €.
Die Kosten hierfür werden nicht von der Krankenkasse übernommen.
Leider können wir das Geld nicht selbst aufbringen.
Ich gebe den Kampf gegen den Krebs nicht auf. Und dabei kämpfe ich nicht nur für mich, sondern auch für meinen Mann, meinen kleinen Sohn und für meine Familie.

Jmenuji se Michaela. Je mi 35 let, jsem vdaná a mám osmiletého syna.
I přes každoroční preventivní prohlídku u gynekologa, mi byla v prosinci roku 2015 diagnostikována rakovina děložního čípku v pokročilém stádiu.
Chemoterapie a ozařování, které jsem podstoupila, byly bohužel bez úspěchu. Lékaři se domnívají, že mi zbývá již jen pár měsíců života.
Mou poslední nadějí je tzv. kombinovaná léčba rakoviny, která se skládá z regionální chemoterapie a následné léčby imunitních buněk v několika cyklech.
Regionální chemoterapie je omezena pouze na postiženou část těla. Lék se přivádí ve vysoké koncentraci na nádor a nádorovou oblast přes artérie, a tak může uplatnit svůj plný účinek lokálně. Regionální chemoterapie má být provedena Prof. Aignerem z Medias kliniky v Burghausenu.
V následující terapii imunitních buněk s Prof. Dr. Schirrmacherem (imunologicko-onkologické centrum v Kolíně nad Rýnem) se vlastní krevní buňky odebírají a pěstují se z nich náročné dendritické buňky, které hrají klíčovou roli v imunitním systému organismu v boji s rakovinou. Kromě toho bude také v boji proti nádoru využit onkolytický virus, který ničí rakovinové buňky.
Částka za celou léčbu, která by mi mohla zachránit život, je přibližně 75.000,-€.
Náklady na tuto léčbu nejsou hrazené zdravotní pojišťovnou a my bohužel nejsme schopni takové peníze sami obstarat.
Boj s rakovinou nevzdávám. Nebojuji jen pro sebe, ale i pro mého manžela, svého malého synka a pro celou moji rodinu.
